Yield to God’s Love

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth (His Word) for your love is better than wine. Song of Solomon 1:2

The “YIELD” sign pictured above in the shape of a heart can be seen in the parking lot, hanging on the side of a building, at Camarillo’s Farmers Market. Perhaps, it was hanging there for years without me even noticing its existence. But, one day it captured my attention. I smiled as I heard these words “Yield to My Love” being gently spoken to my heart.

A couple of months ago, our team began studying the Song of Solomon. Guess how the Song of Songs, God’s love song to us, begins?  It begins essentially with this exhortation, “Let Him love you.” In other words, “Yield to God’s love!” Three verses later the “daughters of Jerusalem” get a hold of this reality that “the king” which is representative of “The King of Kings” loves them, so they respond “We will remember your love more than wine.” The Hebrew word for love in this verse, Song of Solomon 1:4, is plural for God’s love is multidimensional. God’s love – His saving love, His forgiving love, His healing love, His delivering love and so much more – is available for you to receive. Will you “let God love you”? Will you yield to His love?

No matter what challenges you are facing or what failures or wrongs you have done or have been done to you, remember this simple but powerful Truth that “God loves you!”  Remember His multidimensional love for you! (Isaiah 53:1-5: Psalms 103:1-5) From the cross the depths of God’s love for you and I was visibly demonstrated. Jesus will forever be remembered as the Lamb Who was slain not only for us but as us. Jesus took our sin and paid our debt, so that whosoever would believe in Him would never be separated again from God and His great love for us.

Yielding your heart to this reality that God’s love you – that He absolutely positively enjoys you and delights in you – will dynamically change the way you think and feel about yourself and the way you view and live your life. Unfortunately, every attack against your life will try to get you to doubt or lose sight of God’s infinite, immeasurable, unconditional love for you. When the negative circumstances are surrounding you and everything seems to be shouting “Impossible!…Surely, God does not love you!”, see God’s heart! See God beckoning you to “YIELD” to His love – to let Him love you – to let Him save you, to let Him forgive you, to let Him heal you, to let Him deliver you.

In Christ’s love,
