“So those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles.” — Isaiah 40:31
“Meeting for prayer today was uplifting and encouraging!” a prayer guest wrote this past month. As I reread her testimony, an image of a hot-air balloon and our experience of them came to mind.
After arising very early in the morning we arrived at the balloon launch site. There, on the dry barren ground dozens of beautifully designed hot air-balloons lay motionless – deflated and silent.
One by one life was breathed into them! As the burners were individually ignited, powerful flames would shoot upward, filling each one with hot air. Once the air inside became significantly warmer than the outside air, each ballon would begin to stand upright and then become buoyant enough to lift off the ground.
In a matter of moments the hot-air balloons were soaring effortlessly over The Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile River in Egypt. And, tourists like us were able to view the landscape below from a whole different perspective.
The balloon itself can represent your life – beautifully designed by God and created with a purpose. The flame that fills the balloon with hot air is like the Lord’s presence. His love and His promises brings warmth to your spirit and soul, causing the cold heavy air of fear, doubt, shame, and discouragement that once deflated and grounded you to dissipate, allowing you to stand upright and to soar with Him.
Encouragement from the Lord, like our prayer guests receive and share, is like adding more flame, allowing you to soar even higher with Him. And the higher you go, the smaller your problems appear. What once looked overwhelming to you becomes part of a much larger landscape. From above, you can see roads you couldn’t see before. Direction becomes clearer.
If your heart needs to be encouraged and uplifted or you desire to soar higher with Him, I encourage you to schedule a healing prayer session with us this upcoming week. Click here to schedule.
