The Power of Speaking God’s Words

For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12

“Sue, we need to be sharing more testimonies,” exhorted a prayer warrior. As I contemplated her words, I felt God’s nudge and direction to share a number of testimonies that are now contained in this past week’s teaching “Activating the Power of God’s Word.”  Each testimony is a demonstration of the miraculous power of God being released, as people chose to speak “The Word of God” despite the great opposition they were facing.

Although healings, miracles, and breakthroughs can occur a number of ways, the ones being shared in this teaching deal specifically with confessing God’s Word unto salvation – unto healing, deliverance, and redemption. (Rom. 10:10) What is beautiful about receiving from God in this fashion is that your faith gets strengthened in the process, as you personally stand on God’s Word, confessing it with your own mouth. As a result, when similar trials come your way or the way of those you are praying for, you know how to take the “sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God” “to fight the good fight of faith” and lay hold of the promises that belong to you and to those who are in Christ. (Ephesians 6:17, 1 Tim. 6:12)

Here is an excerpt from one of the testimonies I shared in the class. It was from Jeff Folkins, who was the director of the Massachusett’s Healing Rooms, about his wife Michele.  “… On Sunday, June 10th, the doctors determined that Michelle had between 14 and 18 stage 4-cancer growths in her lungs. One of the doctors had pulled me aside and told me, ‘You need to prepare yourself for this, as your wife has all these cancerous tumors in her lungs. Do you understand?’  I replied, ‘No, I do not.’ He then asked what I didn’t understand.

I responded, ‘Let me tell you what I know. My wife, Michele, and I are Christians, we serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. I will not accept or come into agreement with anything that is said that contradicts the Word of God, because He said that by His stripes my wife is healed. It’s not what you say, it’s what Jesus said.’

I will not accept or come into agreement with anything that is said that contradicts the Word of God…

The doctor walked away and my daughter over heard him say, “Either this guy is a total whack job or he has faith in God that I have never seen.” … On that Monday, June 11th, I sent an email out to all the Healing Rooms in Massachusetts and contacted Spokane (Headquarters for International Association of Healing Rooms) asking that they would pray. Of course, that’s what we do; we pray, we pray, and then when we’re done, we pray again.

… When they went in surgically to take the samples, all the tumors were gone except one; as a matter of fact, they stopped the procedure to make sure they had the right patient. The one spot that was in her lungs was an infection, which has been taken care through medication. The Lord had healed Michele’s lungs. Praise the Lord! This challenge had taken 11 days…” As you come into agreement with The Word of God, which is Jesus’ name (Rev. 19:13), declaring and proclaiming His name above every other name, expect God to do for you what He did for Michelle – to bring you health and healing – to bring you the victory that Is in Christ Jesus.

If you need your faith strengthened in God and a new resolve to not quit speaking God’s Word in the face of great difficulty and even life-threatening situations, I encourage you to listen to this teaching and to all the testimonies that were shared.
