Forgiveness and Healing

“… forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them.”  Colossians 3:13

Soon after we began the healing rooms, a lady came in for prayer because her skin was covered with scabies, which no medicine or medical doctor had been able to cure. She had been suffering for about one year and it was so bad that she had to take a leave of absence from her job.

As we began the prayer session, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to ask,  “Is there anyone that you need to forgive?”  Her immediate response was “no.”  I invited her to ask God to bring to remembrance anyone that she may need to forgive. God brought to her mind that she needed to forgive her father. After leading her through a prayer of forgiveness followed by a prayer for her healing she went home. Although she did not attend our church, she came that Sunday to share with me what had happened. That night following the prayer session, all her scabies fell off in bed. She woke up the next morning with beautiful new skin! She was so excited that God had healed her from the debilitating and painful scabies she had experienced.

Because you “have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ” you are called to release this same gift of forgiveness to those who have sinned against you. (Col. 3:13)  And when you do, you may discover that you have received healing in your own soul and body  (See Matthew 18:21-35)

Here is a “Forgiveness Prayer” that will help you in the process of forgiving.

Blessings,
