COURAGEUS PRAYERS

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9

Allowing your prayer life to be shaped by the Psalms will help you to walk courageously with God through any challenge you face. Because the Psalms are “God’s Prayer Manual,”  the Holy Spirit will escort you from a place of darkness into a place of light as you begin to embrace them through prayer and song. As you do this, you will rise above the clouds of negativity – negative thoughts and negative emotions – and enter into an atmosphere of living hope – a hope that is beyond all natural hope.

You will be able to see more clearly – see Who God is and who He has created you to be in Christ Jesus.

As you hear your own voice as well as God’s voice in the Psalms, your faith will be awakened. Your difficulties will take on a new perspective as you begin to realize how great your God is.

And guess what will happen next?  You will begin to passionately praise God from the depths of your own heart, hearing yourself join the praises of Him that have gone on through the ages and are now still occurring around God’s throne day and night.

As you praise God along with the Psalmist, you will become “fully convinced” that what God has promised He will perform. (Rom. 4:21) Along with Joshua, you will hear God’s voice as you enter into the promised land (the promises of God for your life):  “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9
