YOU ARE COMPLETELY SET FREE

Jesus of Nazareth… you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. Acts 2: 22-24

Are you facing an impossible situation? Consider Acts 2:24. It is one of those bible verses that has encouraged me greatly over the years, especially when something looks impossible.

As I think about this verse in light of Easter, Resurrection Sunday, I want to share with you part of a dream that I had before I started the healing rooms. In the dream itself, I saw myself literally strapped down to a hospital bed. Because of the straps that encompassed by body and my limbs, it was impossible for me to get out of bed. I was bound. I could not free myself. Only when the Spirit of the living God came into my room and loosed me from these straps was I able to get up, run out of the hospital, and be completely set free.

After Jesus was crucified and put to death, God raised Him up. God “loosed” Jesus from the “pains of death.” Acts 2:24 To understand this word loosed, let us look at how Jesus used the same Greek word for loosed, as it appears in another passage of Scripture.  “So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” Luke 13:16 This woman was bound by a spirit of infirmity that caused her physical body to be bent over so severely that she could not raise herself up. (Luke 13:11)

Is there an area of your life where you feel bound? Bound by sin? Bound by a sickness or disease? Bound by demonic oppression?

Is there an area of your life where you feel bound – bound by sin, bound by a sickness or disease, bound by demonic oppression; or bound by any other form of darkness – and realize that you cannot free yourself? If so, God desires that today you know experientially “the exceeding greatness of His power… according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him as this right hand in the heavenly places far.” (Eph. 1:19)

How is this possible? Believe and receive God’s Truth about what Jesus Christ has accomplished for you through His death, resurrection, and ascension. (Romans 10:9-10) Through your faith in Christ, His death becomes your death, His resurrection becomes your resurrection and His ascension becomes your ascension, allowing you to victoriously sit with Christ in the heavenly places. (Rom. 6:4. Eph. 2:6)

“The Greater One – Jesus Christ” is now living in you. (1 John 4:4) Jesus Christ is greater than any bondage you are facing. Just as it was impossible for Jesus to be held by the “pains of death,” it is impossible for you to be held in captivity to the bondage of darkness, as you take your rightful place in Christ and allow Christ to have dominion in every aspect of your life.

As you celebrate Easter, Jesus’ resurrection from the dead and ascension to the right hand of God, hear Him say to you today, “_________ (your name), you are loosed from your infirmity, from whatever darkness you are facing.

Declare Romans 8:11 – It is impossible for me to be held by satan’s bondage, for the same mighty power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead now dwells in me.” (Luke 13:12-16; Rom. 8:11)

Say – “Thank-You for loosing me from ___________ and give life to my mortal body through Your Holy Spirit.”
