Resurrect 1 Peter 2:24

By whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

Have you heard? Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is alive? So, why walk around as if Jesus is dead – as if the Word of God – has no life and no power? Why choose to live as one who has lost all hope of the Word of God becoming true for your life? (See Rev. 1:18, Heb. 4:12)

Why walk through another day living as if Jesus, the Word of God, is dead – has no impact or relevance for your life? Why walk as the two men on the road to Emmaus did, carrying in their hearts the crucified Christ, when Jesus was already resurrected from the dead? Yes, there is a time for weeping at the loss of the felt presence of Jesus in your life and for those you are praying for, but there also comes a time when you move past your loss and see Jesus, Who has never left you and is walking with you and living in you. Yes, it is time to begin intentionally living moment by moment within the resurrected power of Jesus Christ, the supernatural power of the living Word of God.

It is time to cry out to God, as the apostle Paul did, for your heart and the hearts of those in our nation and in our world to be awakened to the true knowledge of the resurrected Christ –  the knowledge of the exceeding greatness of His power available to you and in you. (See Eph. 1:17-21) It’s time to pray like never before that “God would grant you… to be strengthened with might (power) through His Spirit in the inner man…” so that you would behold the resurrected Christ, the Living Word of God, in the midst of contrary evidence, circumstances and symptoms. (See prayer from Eph. 3: 14-21)

Yes, today, God desires to resurrect the Word of God in your heart. If you are in need of healing, God desires for 1 Peter 2:24 to be resurrected in your heart so that you can fasten yourself to “The Hope” that is beyond all natural hope.

Can you make this happen out of shear will power?  No, absolutely not!  But, you can release the inherent life and power of God’s Word by speaking it forth from your mouth, just as God exhorts you to do in Ephesians 6:17  “Take….the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word (rhema) of God.”  “Rhema” in Greek as it appears here refers to the spoken Word of God. The written word of God, “logos” in the Greek language, becomes the living and powerful “sword of the Spirit” the moment you release God’s Word from your mouth. Of course, satan will try everything to convince you that nothing is happening when you speak the Word of God. But, don’t listen to him. Instead, be Jesus’ disciple and keep declaring the Word of God – 1 Peter 2:24 from your mouth – until you actually see the reality of God’s Word transform your heart along with your soul (your mind, will, and emotions) and your body.

The Word of God is one of the most powerful supernatural weapons you have to defeat the enemy.

Why should you do this? Because the Word of God is one of the most powerful supernatural weapons you have to defeat the enemy. Jesus knew its power. But, do you? (John 12:49) When Jesus was in face to face combat with the devil in the wilderness how did Jesus win the battle? (See Matt. 4) He did exactly what God has instructed you to do in Ephesians 6:17. Jesus took “the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God” and released it from His mouth. Immediately after Jesus spoke the written Word of God three times, addressing satan’s three different temptations, satan was defeated. satan had no choice but to obey the authority of the written Word of God that Jesus spoke. If Jesus needed to do this in order to defeat satan’s temptations how about you?

You are created in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor. 5:17) You are created to release the written Word of God out of your mouth. If you need healing, begin to release 1 Peter 2:24 out of your mouth. 1 Peter 2:24 declares “By His stripes you were healed.” The Word of God puts your healing into the past tense. Yes, that is right, you don’t need to put your healing into the future, because God has already put it into the past. You get to say what God says. Well, if that is true, when did it happen? The moment you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart at that moment in time “the old things passed away… and all things have become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) Your new identity in Christ includes  “the forgiveness of ALL of your sins, the healing of ALL your diseases, and the deliverance of your life from the pit of destruction.” (Isaiah 53:1-5, Psalm 103:3-5)

Accept the Truth that Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is not dead but alive. Receive the life giving power of 1 Peter 2:24. Watch it resurrect your heart, soul, and body from death to life as you begin to release it from your mouth.
