FEARLESS LIVING

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

(When ________ occurs) My heart shall not fear.  Psalm 27:1,3

Fear abounds in the hearts and lives of so many people nowadays as the mass shootings, terrorist attacks, crimes, persecutions, wars, natural disasters, economic uncertainties, and all kinds of diseases seem to be escalating at a fairly rapid rate throughout the world.  How can you live amidst the upheaval that this world is now facing and declare like King David did, “My heart shall not fear?” (Psalm 27:3)

You may think, but King David is not confronting the same things we are going through!  But, if you take a brief look at his life, you will understand that he faced many fear provoking situations. In his childhood he defended his father’s flock by killing a bear and a lion. In his youth he faced Goliath and killed him, while all the men of Israel shook in their boots from being “dreadfully afraid” of him. In his early adult years King Saul along with his army relentlessly pursued killing David for many years.  Later in King David’s life, he is thrown out of his own kingdom by his son Absalom.

You will gain divine insight from Psalm 27 of how you can overcome fear and live with great confidence in God, the One Who loves you and Who will never forsake you.

Before fear comes knocking at the door of your own heart or even if it has already barged its way into your life, I encourage you to take Psalm 27 like you would take a life saving medication.  Take a full dose of “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall i fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  (When _____ occurs) My heart shall not fear. ” (Ps. 27:1, 3)

Follow it up by a continuous infusion of God’s medicine  “… in this (God) I will be confident.” Psalm 27:3  Then, when the “what if’s” begin to bombard your mind and you don’t know how things are going to turn out, take three full doses or as often as you need it of “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion…  He shall set me high upon a rock and now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me.” (Psalm 27:5-6)

If you are facing any type of fear, especially if it has overwhelmed your heart and life, I encourage you to listen to the Fearless Living series. You will gain divine insight from Psalm 27 of how you can overcome fear and live with great confidence in God, the One Who loves you and Who will never leave you or forsake you no matter what you are going through.
